 ADMISSION TO THE ALUMNI CONVENTION  
The convention is designed for former IUPIP international courses participants. The number of participants will be confined to 25.

Criteria for Selection

  • Applicant’s involvement in the field of human rights.
  • Equal distribution from different IUPIP international courses
  • Equal distribution from different Countries
  • Gender balance
  • Connection with NGOs of Trentino (the region where IUPIP is) engaged in international solidarity projects
  • Coverage of travel expenses

The course will be conducted in English and consequently a fairly good knowledge of the English language is required.

Closing date for application: 1st September 2006.
 

REQUIREMENTS

Participants must arrive on Sunday 26th November and leave on Sunday 3rd December.
Successful participants could be asked to complete a short essay (about 1000 words) prior to the beginning of the course.
Applicants are requested to confirm their participation to the IUPIP Secretariat by e-mail (or fax or telephone) not later than seven days after receiving notice of acceptance. Confirmation is understood to entail acceptance of the above conditions.
 

VENUE

The seat of IUPIP and the location of the course is in Rovereto. The course is held in the 16th Century Palazzo Adami situated in the centre of the city. Rovereto (included in the Italian network of local government units for peace) has about 35,000 inhabitants.
The city is located in Northern Italy, in the beautiful Adige valley surrounded by mountains and not far from lake Garda. It takes less than one hour by train to Verona and about two and a half hours to Venice or Milan.
 

COST

The participation in the convention is free.

ACCOMMODATION

Accommodation expenses (including meals) for those admitted to the course will be covered by IUPIP. A vegetarian option is available.
From 26th November to 3rd December, participants will be accommodated in double rooms at Il Faggio Hostel which is located a few minutes walk both from the railway station and from Palazzo Adami.
 

TRAVEL EXPENSES

Applications from candidates belonging to North-West organisations will be considered only if the organisations will cover all travel expenses.
Applicants belonging to South-East organisations which are unable to cover the travel expenses are asked to indicate so on the application form. IUPIP will consider the possibility of partial or total coverage of the cost of the flight, taking the geographical area of origin of the applicant into account. (Transportation to and from the airport in the country of origin and other expenses arising prior to the arrival in Rovereto, such as visa fees and airport taxes will not be covered by IUPIP).
